the sandbox curriculum

Your school's SandBox membership includes exclusive access to DumpTruck Media's proven 20 module podcast curriculum.

The EASY-to-follow curriculum is divided into 4 project blocks, which include prompts for podcast ideation, creation and assessment. 

Each module includes: a goal, discussion topic, writing, and technology suggestions and tips paired to that specific lesson.

The curriculum is specially designed so that Teachers can follow along according to plan, or simply select a few appropriate unit lessons based on their class semester learning objectives.

Language Arts or World Language Teachers could use the lessons to enrich a month-long study unit, while Social Studies Teachers could incorporate all 20 modules at their discretion throughout a semester.

Portions of a block could be used to offer enrichment for students to produce a Math concept podcast or even a differentiation option for a group of Science students debating, say, use of the Earth's resources.

The included SandBox Curriculum can complement communication courses including Media Literacy, Public Speaking and Digital Media - or can be a catalyst for creating the same for digital native students. 

All SandBox memberships are for the entire school. A Teacher, or group of Teachers, may utilize various parts of the curriculum at any given time.  The flexibility of school-wide use is a strong selling point to administrators.

Once you become a SandBox member, Teachers will have access to a series of instructional videos enabling a quick start-up process, and making sure you're comfotable with the curriculum and creative process.

For schools that do not have their own recording & editing software and/or gear, DumpTruck Media will help you discern what gear works best, then direct you to the purchasing links in our dropdown menu.

Every member will have access to a Production Music & Sound Effects Library to use in student podcasts. Members will also receive links to instructional videos explaining creative use of sound in podcasts.  

Teachers will have full Administrative access to all levels of The SandBox: School Home Page, Network Player, Podcast Storage Home and Membership Details. Students will only have access to the Network Player.
